About Lola

Lola is a lovely seven year old terrier who is now looking for a forever home.

She can be shy initially, but once she's comfortable, her personality really comes out. She's very much the kind of dog who will pick a cosy bed over a toy, and takes life at her own pace.

Lola is great with other dogs, though she can initially be nervous of very large or bouncy dogs. She is in foster with four other, small dogs, and has enjoyed meeting larger, calm dogs, so we believe she would happily live with other calm dog(s) of a similar age, or she could be an only dog if there was someone home most of the time.

She has been left for up to 4 hours with other dogs as company, but she may well need to be built up more slowly if she were an only dog, as she's not keen on being left alone - not destructive at all, just anxious.

She is currently in foster with cats, but as a typical terrier she can be a bit chasey, though she backs off when told to. Ideally she would live in a home without cats, or could live with very confident, dog-savvy cats that will stand up for themselves.

Part of the reason she sadly came to us was due to being overwhelmed by the young children in her home. She's a sweet little old lady who likes her peace and quiet, so we think she would prefer a home with dog savvy children 12+ who will let her have space (and naps) when she wants them.

She loves her walks, though she likes to take them at her own pace and give everything a good sniff. Despite this, she walks very well on the lead with no pulling - she asks nicely to be allowed to wander and sniff.

In the house, she will very bravely alert you to the postman, but has otherwise been a perfect house guest. No accidents, no attempts to sneak food from humans or other dogs, takes treats gently, easy to groom, and is just all round a very sweet little girl.

She is blind in one eye due to Sudden Aquired Retinal Degeneration (SARDS), but she's been checked by the vet and it is causing her no discomfort, and she manages absolutely fine with limited vision. However, there is a risk that she may loose the sight in her other eye in the future.

She also needs a dental - this is booked in with Brightside Vets and will be covered by the Charity.

She is spayed, chipped, and vaccinated.

Her adoption donation is £200.
