About Luna and Eclipse

  • Cat friendly
  • House trained
  • High energy
  • Loves Food

Meet Luna and Eclipse a mother and daughter duo that came to us after being surrendered at the vets.

They didn’t have the best start in life and mama cat Luna was VERY protective of Eclipse when she first arrived in foster. Her fantastic foster has worked wonders with them both and they are now ready to find their forever home together.

Luna is anticipated to be 3-4 years old and Eclipse approximately 14 weeks. Both are fully vaccinated, micro chipped, flea treated and wormed. Luna is neutered and Eclipse will go to her new home on a neuter contract that must be completed by 6 months old at our vets in Swadlincote.

This bonded pair are in foster with other cats and dogs and would be ok with older (10+), cat savvy children. They will also need a separate, quiet space in their new home where they can adjust to their surroundings. With Luna being quite a nervous girl initially their new owners will need to be prepared to be patient with her and let her do things at her pace. But don’t be fooled by her calm exterior, once comfortable Luna enjoys causing chaos and have a mad half hour – of course Eclipse joins in with the fun.

Luna is also rather feisty and can be unpredictable at times, this does seem to have settled down since being neutered and she loves to have a cuddle on her foster mums knee now but her new owner will need to be aware that she has a feisty side and learn her ‘triggers’. If she is uncomfortable or unhappy she will crouch down, growl and bite (or try to). She can also be unpredictable around food, if another cat comes near her or her food whilst eating (although she is not possessive of her food as her foster has moved her bowls/ touched them whilst she’s eating, it’s more of a confusion and over stimulation) she has been know to lash out at the cat and then try and attack the human too. She does give you warning that she is unhappy, it’s not out of the blue – she’s more of a woman’s cat than a mans as she prefers her foster mum to foster dad. Please don’t let this put you off though, she has so much love to give and with an understanding, patient owner she and her baby will thrive.

Both are litter trained and eating well.

A donation of £180 for the pair is required, if you can offer this beautiful family a loving home please fill in an application form on our website www.harleyshounds.org.
