We are now opening applications for the most handsome boy Smokey!

Smokey is a 1 year old Gordon setter cross, we aren't sure what but assuming pointer.

Smokey had grown up to be trained as a working dog over in Ireland, but was much too nervous so rehomed by a family in England where he was very well loved and cared for. Unfortunately Smokey suffers fairly badly from separation anxiety, so the families working pattern meant they were unable to make and headway in dealing with this.

He is great with sensible dog savvy kids once he knows them, so we would be happy to consider a home where there are children around the ages of 7/8 and up.

Smokey LOVES other dogs, and we will only home him where there is another friendly, neutered playful dog who will like to burn off some energy with him, and happy to curl up for a snooze together. Smokey is currently getting 3 hours of exercise a day split into 3 sessions, and his foster is doing lots of mental stimulation sessions with food. He is incredibly switched on and will not tire easily, so please think about if you can match what he needs!

When left alone, Smokey will howl, bark, and scratch at doors/walls for a good hour before he settles. The more exercise he has, the less he does it so he really does need an active outdoor loving home, who can perseverance with lots of ongoing training. He's a very clever loving boy, and will make the most wonderful dog given time.

Smokey is nervous of men and strangers in general, given 24 hours he is like a different dog so potential homes will need to expect nerves and not put any pressure on him initially.
